Break Catering for Staff Training Days
IllustrationOn a training course that runs 2 to 5 days, the same group sits in the same room all day. If the snacks look the same at every break, people are bored by day two, and the total budget creeps up without anyone noticing. This page explains staff training break catering with snack boxes: split the budget into two breaks a day, rotate sets by time of day, and count boxes so you never fall short or over-order.
It is written for HR, learning and development teams and the admins who run internal training, at your own office or in a rented room in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces. People who search for a snack box for staff training usually want something easy to hand out, with nobody needed to set it up, and a budget they can fix in advance. Individual boxes fit that well, because each trainee takes one box and goes straight back to their seat.
How should you split the budget for two training breaks a day?
Give the afternoon break slightly more than the morning one. People are more tired after lunch and want a drink, while a lighter set is enough in the morning. The table shows cost per person per day, before delivery.
| Approach | Morning break | Afternoon break | Cost per person per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy | Value Set ฿42 | Value Set ฿42 | ฿84 |
| Standard | Value Set ฿42 | Best Seller Set ฿85 | ฿127 |
| Course for managers | Recommend Set ฿70 | Best Seller Set ฿85 | ฿155 |
Take a 2-day course with 50 people on the standard approach: (50 x 42 + 50 x 85) x 2 = (2,100 + 4,250) x 2 = ฿12,700 before delivery. Each break is 50 boxes, exactly the minimum. If your budget per head falls between two rows, pick the row that stays within budget, then ask the team whether a closer combination exists. Delivery is quoted by distance and confirmed before you commit.
How do you rotate the break menu on a multi-day course?
Tell the team when you order that you want each day's menu to differ from the day before. They confirm the menu with you in advance, but what is possible depends on the queue and what is available that day, so we cannot promise that nothing repeats.
A few simple tactics help trainees feel the menu is changing even when the set stays the same.
- Alternate sets between days: use the Value Set on day one and the Recommend Set on day two, and trainees see different pastries at once.
- Use a juice set on heavy days: on exam days or group activity days, the Best Seller Set comes with a 180 ml orange juice drink to keep people going.
- Say what you got last time: if you mention it when ordering, the team avoids the same pastries where it can.
One order can mix pastries, with no more than 20 pieces of any one kind, so 50 trainees can get several different pastries in one break without changing the set.

How long should a training break be, and when should it fall?
A break of 15 to 20 minutes works well for a course that runs back to back. Shorter and people rush and cannot finish eating. Longer, and getting everyone back into the room tends to drag.
| Slot | Example time | What to think about |
|---|---|---|
| Start of day | 08:45 | If there is a morning opening, boxes can sit out at registration |
| Morning break | 10:30 | 15 minutes, lighter set |
| Afternoon break | 14:30 | 20 minutes, set with a drink |
Have the boxes arrive at least 30 minutes before the break. If the course room is in a different building from the drop-off point, tell the receiver how long the walk takes. For a closer look at timing within one day, see two breaks in one day.
How many boxes do you need for a staff training course?
Count the confirmed trainees, add the trainer and assistants, then multiply by the number of breaks. An order cannot be below 50 boxes. If your group is smaller, try combining several courses or several breaks into one order, or message the team on LINE. Do not over-order just to reach the minimum.
- Confirmed trainees, for example 44 people
- 2 trainers and 2 assistants, making 48
- Add 2 boxes for people who join late, making 50
- Multiply by 2 breaks a day, which gives 100 boxes a day
Here is a second example: a 3-day course for 60 people. The 10:30 break uses the Value Set, 60 x 42 = ฿2,520. The 14:30 break uses the Best Seller Set, 60 x 85 = ฿5,100. That is ฿7,620 a day and ฿22,860 for three days, before delivery. If a break needs more than 50 boxes, order the real number and confirm it again with the team close to the day. If you need to reduce the count, tell the team at least 48 hours before delivery, otherwise the original count stands. For the general formula, see the guide to working out how many boxes to order.

How do you hand out boxes in a training room without disrupting the class?
The least disruptive way is to stack the boxes on a side table and let trainees walk over and take one when the break is announced, rather than having someone circulate desk by desk while the trainer is still talking. Every pastry is in a clear sachet and every box has tissue, so people can eat straight away without looking for a plate.
If the room does not allow eating inside, put the boxes in the lobby outside and open the break so people go out to collect them. The organiser should have one person at the table when the break starts to answer questions about whose box is whose. If you split sets by group, for example the trainer on the Best Seller Set and the trainees on the Value Set, label the stacks beforehand.
How does catering for staff training differ from a seminar?
Staff training has a fixed group and fixed times, while a seminar often has people coming and going from several departments. That makes a training budget easier to predict, but you do need to think about repeating menus.
- Internal training: the group is fixed and snacks repeat easily, so rotate the sets between days.
- Seminar: several groups attend and walk-ins are common, so allow more spare boxes. See the seminar break page.
- Short meeting: one box is enough and there is no need to split into breaks. See the meeting break page.
Snacks for a monthly staff meeting can use the same sets as training, just without the two-break split. If you have a regular meeting schedule, see ordering snack boxes on a regular basis.

What should you check at the training venue before ordering?
Check whether the venue allows outside food before you confirm the order, so the boxes do not arrive and then get refused at the door. Some training venues have rules about this.
- Where people can eat: is eating allowed inside the training room, or only in the lobby outside?
- Where the boxes go: is there a break table or a corner, so you can hand them out without putting them on the desks?
- Drop-off point: where is it, and do you need to swap an ID card or tell security in advance?
- Rubbish: are there enough bins for empty boxes, and somewhere to keep spare boxes?
- Fridge: is there one in the room, if you want to keep leftovers for the next break?
Organisers often forget the last point. Whether leftovers from the morning can be kept for the afternoon depends on the type of pastry and the weather that day. Ask the team how to store them when you confirm the menu. Ordering the real number is safer than carrying boxes over between breaks.
How do you order a snack box for a training course?
Ordering a training break snack box follows the same steps as any snack box order. The one difference is that you should send the schedule for every day of the course together.
- Choose a set for each break, or tell us your budget per head per day.
- Send the number of boxes per break, the date, time, venue and receiver's name through the LINE order button or the quote request form.
- The team confirms the menu, delivery fee and total.
- You confirm, we prepare the order, and payment in full is due before delivery day.
Sending the whole schedule at once lets the team plan the whole run, so you do not have to message again each day. Documents on request are a quotation, an invoice and a receipt, confirmed with the team order by order. For an overview of the company services, see break catering for companies.
What to know before ordering training breaks
These limits are worth knowing before you build them into a course plan.
- 50 boxes minimum per order: a smaller group cannot order on its own, so combine breaks or courses.
- 2 days ahead: rush options exist but cover only a few pastries and depend on that day's queue. See express orders.
- Each address is confirmed: we deliver to Bangkok and surrounding provinces, and the team confirms per address. There is no published district list.
- Reducing the count needs 48 hours: after that, the original count stands.
- Menu rotation has no guarantee: we can ask for variety, but cannot promise nothing repeats.
- No allergy guarantee: if a trainee has an allergy or avoids certain foods, tell the team when you order. We can look at the menu with you, but anyone with a severe allergy should ask about ingredients before eating.
Summary
To cater staff training on a budget, use snack boxes at ฿42, ฿70 and ฿85 and split each day into two breaks, a lighter set in the morning and a set with a drink in the afternoon. Multiply by headcount and days, keep every order at 50 boxes or more, and order at least 2 days ahead. Alternating sets between days reduces boredom, and it helps to send the whole course schedule in one go. Delivery is charged by distance and quoted before you confirm.
When you are ready, send your course schedule through the quote request form or use the LINE order button on the set page you chose.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I budget per head for staff training breaks?
It depends on the number of breaks. For the standard approach with two breaks a day, use the Value Set at ฿42 in the morning and the Best Seller Set at ฿85 in the afternoon, which is ฿127 per person per day. Delivery is extra, charged by distance, and the team quotes it before you confirm.
Can I ask for a different menu each day on a multi-day course?
Yes, tell the team when you order that you want each day to differ. The team confirms the menu in advance, but we cannot promise there is no repeat, because it depends on the queue and what is available that day. Alternating sets between days is the easiest way to show trainees different pastries.
Can I order for a training group of fewer than 50 people?
Not on its own, because the minimum is 50 boxes per order. Try combining several courses or several breaks into one order, or message the team on LINE to ask what can be done. We would rather you not over-order just to reach the minimum.
For a course lasting several days, do I need to order again each day?
No. Send the schedule for every day in one message, with the number of boxes and time for each break. The team confirms and works out the total. Delivery may be charged per trip, depending on distance, and the team tells you the amount before you confirm the order.
Can I mix several sets in one training course?
Yes. For example, the Value Set in the morning and the Best Seller Set in the afternoon, or the Value Set for trainees and the Best Seller Set for the trainer. Tell the team when you order how many boxes of each set you need. The total for the order must still reach 50 boxes.
How many days ahead do I need to order?
At least 2 days, and for a multi-day course send the whole schedule together. If you are later than that, there are rush options: order before 10:00 for 17:00 the same day, or within 4 hours of confirmation. The menu is limited and depends on the queue, so ask the team on LINE first.
Can I get a quotation for a training course?
Yes, through the quote request form or LINE, with the number of boxes per break and the schedule. An invoice and a receipt can also be requested, but they must be confirmed with the team order by order before you commit to the order.
