Snack Boxes for Merit-Making and Company Ceremonies
IllustrationIf your company is planning a merit-making ceremony and needs snack boxes for merit-making, start by deciding who the boxes are for. A ceremony has at least two groups: the people taking part, and the monks who receive the offerings. The two groups need different things, and the monks' own rules about food have details of their own. We supply boxes for guests and staff from the sets we already have. What is offered to monks is always something to settle first.
What kinds of merit-making events can snack boxes be used for?
They suit any ceremony where participants come as a group and want an individual snack, such as an annual company merit-making, a blessing for a new office, an anniversary ceremony, an organisation's kathin robe-offering or forest-robe (pa pa) event, and a birthday merit-making.
What these events share is that people arrive in waves. There is a wait for the monks, the ceremony itself, and the offering. Guests do not sit and eat continuously, so a box you can pick up and eat at once suits better than a buffet table.
You may see this called ceremony snacks, merit-making refreshments or snacks to hand out. They all mean the same thing: a set of pastries packed individually for one person. That matches the BreakHub box, where every pastry is in its own clear sachet and every box has a tissue, so guests can open it and eat without needing plates.
Three levels get chosen most often for events like this. The Value Set at ฿42 has 1 pastry and a 100 ml cup of drinking water, which suits staff at a morning ceremony. The Recommend Set at ฿70 has 2 premium pastries and no drink. The Best Seller Set at ฿85 has 2 premium pastries and a 180 ml orange juice drink, which suits executives and invited guests.
How do you choose sets and work out the count for a company merit-making?
Count the staff who will really take part, not the whole company list, and add 5 to 10 percent for executives, invited guests and people who turn up late. Real attendance varies a lot depending on whether the ceremony is held in or outside working hours. HR can usually estimate it best from a short reply form sent before the day.
Example: a company of 120 people holding a morning ceremony before work starts.
| Group | Quantity | Set | Total before delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Staff attending | 80 boxes | Value Set ฿42 | ฿3,360 |
| Executives and invited guests | 15 boxes | Best Seller Set ฿85 | ฿1,275 |
| Spare for latecomers | 10 boxes | Value Set ฿42 | ฿420 |
| Total | 105 boxes | Two sets mixed | ฿5,055 |
These figures exclude delivery. Pastries can be mixed from the menu, up to 20 pieces of any one kind per order, and the team confirms the menu first. If several departments collect separately, put the quantity for each drop-off point in a single message. The 50-box minimum counts across the whole order, not per drop-off point.
An organisation that needs paperwork for internal approval should ask for a quotation before ordering. The documents we issue are a quotation, an invoice and a receipt. More on the corporate quotation page.

How do you keep offerings for monks separate from the guests' boxes?
Always make two separate items in the order: the boxes for guests, and any set the host wants to offer to monks. Then talk to the team about whether the second is possible. We do not confirm in advance that the pastries in a standard box suit an offering to monks.
The reason is that the customs on timing and on what may be offered depend on the temple and the monks invited. The host should first ask the temple what it can receive, and then tell the team, so we can see whether anything in our sets matches what the temple said.
The order we recommend:
- Ask the temple or the person coordinating whether snacks or drinks can be offered, and at what time.
- Tell the team how many sets you want for the offering, and ask them to check whether the menu for that round is suitable.
- Put the guest count on a separate line so the total and the delivery fee are clear.
- Put the monks' boxes and the guests' boxes in different places, and label them so the organisers can see.
When do you hand out snacks at a merit-making event, and can leftovers be kept?
There are two moments: when guests arrive, or after the ceremony ends. Most hosts choose after the ceremony, because everyone is together and can take a box and leave. That suits events where guests have travelled far.
Any leftover boxes should be eaten the same day. Every order is baked fresh without preservatives, so we do not suggest keeping boxes overnight. The simplest approach is to order the real number, add no more than 10 percent, and give what is left to the people who helped.
What to prepare on site:
- A place for the boxes in the shade, out of direct sun, especially at an outdoor event
- A person to receive who knows the order and the arrival time
- Bins or rubbish bags, because paper boxes and water bottles are left over after the event

When should delivery arrive for a morning ceremony, the monks' midday meal or an afternoon event?
Aim to have the boxes arrive at least half an hour before the ceremony. Merit-making often follows an auspicious time or the time the monks have agreed to come, and it cannot move. At some events a morning ceremony is followed by the monks' midday meal, and guests only snack while they wait, so a smaller set is enough.
| Part of the event | When the boxes should arrive | Sets often used |
|---|---|---|
| Morning ceremony starting around 07:30 | Before 07:00 | Value Set or Recommend Set |
| Event followed by the monks' midday meal | 30 minutes before the ceremony | Value Set (a snack for the wait) |
| Afternoon event ending in the evening | 30 to 45 minutes before the start | Recommend Set or Best Seller Set |
A very early delivery has to be confirmed against the team's queue. The time you ask for is information for the team to check, not a commitment until they confirm. For more on the queue and rush orders, see the lead time guide.
What should HR check before the day of a company merit-making?
What HR or the admin team should finish before the day is the headcount, the arrival time, the drop-off point and the coordinator. If those four are settled, snacks rarely cause a problem.
- Send a reply form to staff 5 to 7 days ahead, so you can settle the count before ordering.
- Order the snack boxes at least 2 days before the event (earlier is better), and keep the team's menu confirmation message.
- Name one person to receive and one backup, with numbers that can be reached.
- Tell security or the building office about the delivery vehicle if the building has entry rules.
- Set aside the boxes for invited guests and executives separately.
- If you will offer something to monks, settle it with the temple and the team beforehand, not on the day.
If the budget is limited, compare with the budget per head guide to see which set falls in range. The starting point is the Value Set at ฿42 a box.
What to know before ordering snack boxes for a merit-making
Know our limits before you order, so the plan for the ceremony matches what we can actually do and nothing has to be fixed on the day.
- Minimum of 50 boxes: We do not take smaller orders. If your merit-making has fewer than 50 people, try combining with another department on the same day, or message the team on LINE to ask about other options.
- Offerings to monks: We do not have a set made specially for offering to monks and we do not promise one in advance. It is settled order by order, after the host has asked the temple.
- Order at least 2 days ahead: Rush options (same day before 10:00, or within 4 hours) cover only some pastries and depend on the day's queue. See the rush order page.
- Addresses are confirmed: We deliver in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, confirmed address by address. If the temple or venue is far from our usual areas, the team will say plainly whether delivery works.
- Reductions need 48 hours: After that the original count stands, and payment in full is due before the delivery day.
- Arrival time is not a guarantee: An auspicious time cannot move, so set the arrival well before the ceremony and name a coordinator who answers the phone.
How do you order snack boxes for a merit-making event?
You can order through LINE or the form in four steps. The minimum is 50 boxes per order, and sets can be mixed in one order. Payment in full is due before the delivery day, and a reduction in boxes must be told 48 hours ahead. If your merit-making has fewer than 50 people, message the team on LINE first.
- Choose a set from the snack box sets page, or give your budget and let the team suggest one.
- Send the number of boxes, date, time, location and type of event (company merit-making, office blessing and so on), and say whether there is an offering for monks.
- The team confirms the menu, delivery fee and total.
- You confirm, and the team prepares the order to your schedule.
Our service area is Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, confirmed address by address. Delivery is not included in the box price and is charged by real distance. Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum for merit-making snack boxes?
The minimum is 50 boxes per order. You can mix sets in one order, for example the Value Set for staff and the Best Seller Set for executives, and tell the team the split when you order. If your merit-making has fewer than 50 people, message the team on LINE first.
Can I offer the snacks to monks?
We do not confirm in advance that the standard box suits an offering to monks. The host should ask the temple what may be offered and when, then tell the team so they can check whether there is a matching item. If nothing is agreed, use the boxes in the order for guests only.
How many boxes per employee should I order for a company merit-making?
Count the people who will really attend, not total headcount, and add 5 to 10 percent. For example, if about 80 of a company of 120 will come, order around 90 to 105 boxes, depending on whether there are extra invited guests.
Can the boxes be delivered in the morning before the ceremony?
It depends on the queue and the address on the day. Tell the team the time you need and the location, and they will check and confirm. Do not treat it as settled until the team replies, and aim for the boxes to arrive at least half an hour before the ceremony.
How is delivery charged for a merit-making event?
Delivery is not included in the box price. It is charged by real distance and quoted before you confirm the order. The team gives you the figure once they know the address. The service area is Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, confirmed address by address, not promised everywhere.
Can I get a quotation for a company merit-making?
Yes, through the form on the quote page or by messaging the team on LINE. The documents we issue are a quotation, an invoice and a receipt. Say what paperwork you need when you ask for the quote, so it can be prepared to match your company approval steps.
Do the pastries in the box change from round to round?
They do not rotate by round, but you can mix pastries from the menu, up to 20 pieces of any one kind per order. The Value Set uses the classic menu, while the Recommend Set and Best Seller Set use the premium menu. The team confirms the menu before preparation.
